Unmarked Mated Queens: Minnesota Hygienic Italian
Minnesota Hygienic Italian Queens are a breed of Italian Honey Bees developed by D. Marla Spivak at the University of Minnesota Bee Lab. These Italian bees have been specifically bred with the goal of continued selection of VSH traits (Varroa sensitive hygiene) to help reduce the impact of Varroa Destructor in the hive. We prefer Italian Queens for the Texas climate due to the increased brood rearing that helps us take advantage of nectar flows for honey production.

Nucs (Hive Nucleus) are sold as starter hives to be installed in your own equipment. Think of a nuc as the equivalent of buying a potted plant with a developed root system to transfer into your garden. It's ready to grow as soon as it's installed.

Minnesota Hygienic Italian Single Story Hive with Marked Queen
A single story Hive is a nuclear hive already installed in a deep brood chamber with a lid and a bottom board. It does not include a honey super.

Terms and Conditions for Live Bees
- I agree that the bees (Nuc, Hive or Queens) I received from Fain's Honey are my responsibility once I leave the Fain's Honey premise.
- Fain's Honey is not responsible if my bees develop disease, contract pests, swarm, die, or perform less than my expectations.
- I understand I am responsible to care for them from the selected pick up date forward and I will not hold Fain's Honey liable for any reason concerning bees received from them.
- I release Fain's Honey from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while on the Fain's Honey property and agree not to bring a lawsuit against Fain's Honey for any reason.
- If I fail to pickup my bees on my chosen pickup date and choose to take a refund, I understand that Fain's Honey will refund the purchase price of my bees less a 20% restocking fee.

Beginner Beekeeper Class with Live Bees
Come and meet with a Walker Honey Farm beekeeper to work through hives and go over the basics of beekeeping. Get your questions answered and learn some tips and tricks along the way! Topics include:

- Bees and their Function in the Hive (Queens, Drones, Workers)
- Brood Health and Hive Signals
- Proper Nutrition and Supplements
- IPM Strategies (Integrated Pest Management)
- Best Practices
Bring your own protective gear and hive tool. If you do not have either please email us at order@walkerhoneyfarm.com with your glove size and we can loan you gear for the class.
